EUROGLAS initiates „Working group School - Economics Sülzetal “
Companies from the region Sülzetal provide pupils an insight into various possibilities of professional training
With the aim to strengthen the regional economy and to lower the migration of young people, together with thirteen further companies Euroglas has started the “Working group School - Economics Sülzetal” at the location Osterweddingen. Since the beginning of the year every two weeks there is a practical day for pupils in the comprehensive school „Sülzetal”. The project addresses pupils of the classes 8 to 10, directly before their application for a professional training. In the workshops of the school the participants get a view of the different practical activities in the professional life by experts of the local resident companies.
As one of the large employers in the district Börde EUROGLAS has shown large commitment for years in Haldensleben and Osterweddingen: With the establishment of the “Working group School - Economics Sülzetal“ a further milestone is set. „In Haldensleben EUROGLAS has cooperated for years in the “Working group School – Economics” actively, therefore we know the function around its importance for pupils’ professional orientation, says the training manager of EUROGLAS.
The comprehensive school in Osterweddingen offers consulting rooms, in which the participating companies from the metal, solar and mechanical engineering industry support the practical training of the pupils. Teachers and current trainees pass their experiences of their training over to the pupils. The direct communication between the current trainees and pupils has the advantage that on the same communication level knowledge is exchanged confidentially. Beside technical, also physical conditions for the different training professions are described. In the cooperative area of the comprehensive school even mounting and demounting work can be made under the teachers’ instructions. The advantages for the pupils are obvious: connections between school and practice can be recognized and the decision for an occupation is improved by the practical activity. When special skills and interests are made obvious by pupils, the companies offer practical courses for the deepening of their knowledge.
