SILVERSTAR – Glass designed for life

For a long time windows were regarded as heat sinks in winter, while in summer life under glass became a torment due to the greenhouse-like effect. The cause for that ist that glass is transparent not only for the human eye, but also in the infrared spectrum, and allows heat radiation to pass through it practically without hindrance.
To alleviate this drawback of glass, it is mostly coated glasses that are used nowadays for building. The job of the coating is to influence the transmission properties of the glass such that it meets energy requirements more efficiently. Matching the diversity of building types, from houses and conservatories to office complexes, the range of demands placed on the light energy transmission properties of modern insulating glazing is very wide. Consequently, there is no single all-round coating for all applications, but a fine-tuned range of thermal insulation, combi und solar control coatings.
These products form part of the SILVESTAR brand.
